A Diamond Rating in the British Meat Awards
The first major success was for Coates' beefsteak in pepper sauce oven-ready meal, specially prepared by in-house chef Andrew Elder.
Gold Honours for Excellence
Coates Butchers scooped a total of eight product evaluation award wins - half of them gold medals - in the 2004 British Pig Executive (BPEX) Awards for Excellence. The business took gold for its herbed lamb sausage, family steak pie and family minty lamb pie.

Best Butcher in the North of England
The Coxhoe shop landed a notable double in the Meat Trades Journal 'Top Shop' Awards, being voted the best butchers in the North of England in both 2000 and 2002.
National BBQ Win
Competing against 18 other leading butchers from across the country, Coates Butchers was awarded the trophy for the best pork product at the Guild of Q Butchers National Barbecue Championships in Kendal in April 2005

A Diamond award was collected for our family steak pie as well as 5 gold awards, 2 silver award and one branze at the product evaluation held at Butchers Hall in London. THe awards were presented by TV Chef Nick Nairn.
National Barbeque Competition 2006
Winners of the best barbeque beefburger for the Mexican Steak Burger at the cometition which was held in Chepstow with 50 of the best butchers in the U.K competing for honours.
Smithfield Awards 2007
6 gold awards for Chicken Noel, Mexican Steak Burger, Traditional Beef sausage, Chicken Leek and Musdhroom Pie, Traditional Pork Sausage and Lean + Low Pork Sausage plus a Silver Award for Steak and Onion Burgers.
Eurobeef international awards 2007
Best International Product awarded to Basamic Mint Wraps. Also gold awards for Mexican Steak Burger and Traditional Pork sausage.
